Sitio ideal para aquellas personas  que se deciden a salir de compras. En sus inicios funcionaba como dice su nombre como mercado de frutas y verduras, donde los propios isleños exponían y vendían sus cosechas desde sus embarcaciones, pero lo más anecdótico, es que muchos de ellos debían remar varias horas para llegar hasta aquí y llevar a sus hogares  unos pocos pesos. Una realidad muy distinta a la actual , hoy no solo se puede comprar frutas y verduras, sino que se ha convertido en un gran mercado. Encontraremos regalos de todo tipo, plantas, cerámicas, prendas de vestir, comestibles, muebles, artículos del hogar, artesanías en mimbre y junco etc. Se pueden realizar paseos en lanchas turísticas y catamaranes que nos hacen conocer las islas del Delta, los ríos Sarmiento y Luján etc. En el lugar existe una gran variedad de restaurantes y lugares de comidas rápidas, muchos de ellos con vista al río Luján. A pocos metros del Puerto de Frutos se encuentra el Casino de Tigre Trilenium con juegos de azar, shows y espectáculos en vivo y el Parque de la Costa con juegos de recreación para todas las edades.

Ideal place for those who decide to go shopping. In the beginning it worked as a real fruit and vegetable market, where the islanders themselves exhibited and sold their crops from their boats.  As the anecdote goes, it would often take them several hours to arrive there and then they would only make  very few pesos. A reality very different from today! Nowadays you can buy not only fruits and vegetables, but a wide variety of  articles, as the Puerto de Frutos has developped into a well-known market. You will find gifts of all kinds, plants, pottery, clothing, food, furniture, household items, wicker and rattan handicrafts etc. You can also take a boat or a catamaran ride to the islands of the Delta estuary, or down the  rivers Sarmiento and Lujan. In the park there is a wide variety of restaurants many of them overlooking the river Luján. A few meters from the Puerto de Frutos is the Casino de Tigre Trilenium with gambling, shows and live entertainment and the Parque de la Costa with recreational games for all ages.

MUSEO CASA DE CARLOS GARDEL - CARLOS GARDEL'S Birth Place Museum

El inmueble fue adquirido por Carlos Gardel para su madre, Berta Gardés, en 1927, a través de un crédito del Banco Nación. Allí vivieron juntos hasta 1933, último año de la estancia del cantante en Buenos Aires antes de viajar a Francia. Desde entonces, su madre compartió la vivienda con su amiga Anais Beaux y el compañero de ésta, Fortunato Muñiz, quienes la habían empleado en su taller de planchado cuando llegó al país. Al morir Berta, en 1943, la casa quedó en manos de Armando Defino, último representante de Gardel.

The property was acquired by Carlos Gardel for his mother, Berta Gardés in 1927 through a National Bank credit. They lived together until 1933, the last year the singer stayed in Buenos Aires before he travelled to France. Since then, her mother shared the home with her friend Beaux Anais and her partner, Fortunato Muñiz, who had employed her in their ironing workshop when she arrived in the country . When Berta died in 1943, the house passed into the hands of Armando Define, last representative of Gardel.

CASA NATAL DE EVA PERON - Los Toldos (Pcia. Bs.As.) / Eva Peron's Birth House (Los Toldos, Prov. de Bs. As.)

El día 9 de junio de 2004 el Honorable Concejo Deliberante de Gral. Viamonte sancionó la creación del Museo Municipal "Casa Natal María Eva Duarte de Perón", la casa donde transcurriera parte de su infancia. En un principio estuvo ubicado en la calle Francia, pero por Ordenanza Municipal, la arteria pasó a denominarse Eva Perón. Actualmente ha sido reciclada respetando totalmente su estilo.
El inmueble recibe visitas de seguidores y admiradores de sus obras, además de políticos y turistas nacionales e internacionales.

On June 9, 2004 the Honorable Council of General Viamonte sanctioned the creation of the "Casa Natal Maria Eva Duarte de Peron's Birth Home Museum", the house where he spent part of her childhood. At first the street name was France, but bay a municipal ordinance, the artery was renamed Eva Perón. It has now completely been completely restaured respecting its original style.
The building is visited not only by followers and admirers but by polititians and turists from all over the world.

FERIA (DE ANTICUARIOS) DE SAN TELMO y PLAZA DORREGO (sólo los domingos) / San Telmo Antique's Fair at Dorrego Square - (only on Sundays)

Temprano a la mañana, cada domingo desde 1970, una curiosa ceremonia se repite en el escenario de la Plaza Dorrego: baúles, cajas, hierros, tablas, canastos, se superponen en un repiqueteo que asombra a los noctámbulos que alargan la noche con un café de última hora, y a los madrugadores que comienzan el día. A esa hora, la Feria de Cosas Viejas y Antigüedades de San Pedro Telmo comienza a tomar forma, se construye sobre el adoquinado de la plaza y repite un ritual que se ha convertido en el corazón de un barrio que los domingos late de una manera especial.

Early in the morning, every Sunday since 1970, a curious ceremony is repeated on the stage at the Plaza Dorrego, trunks, boxes, irons, boards, baskets, overlap in a patter that amazes lengthening the night owls and and early birds alike. At that time, the Fair Old Stuff Antiques of San Pedro Telmo begins to take shape, is on the cobblestones of the square and repeats a ritual that has become the heart of a neighborhood that on Sundays beats in a special way .
The fair is usually set up by 9:00 a.m. and lasts till 5:00 p.m.You can wrap up your visit by having lunch in the fabulous grill house ("parrilla") LA BRIGADA, undoubtedly, among the very best in town, where you will be able to taste the best - ever rumpsteak.

CAFE TORTONI - TORTONI Cafe

Fundado en 1858, el Café Tortoni es el más antiguo de Argentina. Entre sus enmaderadas paredes, junto a sus mesas de roble y mármol verde, se sentaron Alfonsina Storni, Benito Quinquela Martín, Carlos Gardel, Baldomero Fernández Moreno, Luigi Pirandello, Federico García Lorca y Arturo Rubinstein entre otros artistas, hombres de letras y parlamentarios que traspasaron algo de su personalidad a este tradicional café, inseparable ya de la historia de Buenos Aires.

Founded in 1858, Café Tortoni is the oldest café in Argentina. Among its wood-paneled walls, along with its oak tables and green marble, sat Alfonsina Storni, Quinquela, Carlos Gardel, Baldomero Fernandez Moreno, Luigi Pirandello, Federico García Lorca and Arthur Rubinstein and other artists, writers and MPs transferred some of its traditional character to this cafe, part and parcel of  Buenos Aires's history.
